RIGHT ON— On Sunday the left went bonkers after they discovered that the TelePrompter-less former Governor Sarah Palin wrote notes on the palm of her left hand for her speech to the National Tea Party Convention in Nashville. The far left absolutely freaked over this non-issue rather than focus on her brilliant speech knocking the Obama Administration’s horrid record on economics and national defense.
Today Sarah fired back…

She wrote “Hi Mom!” on her palm during her campaign stop with Governor Rick Perry of Texas.
Hah!

Here’s one of the actual photos from Daylife. It’s not a fake:

Here’s another one:

Of course, the far left is not amused.
Give this round to Sarah Palin.
More… Story Balloon has video of Sarah’s speech for Rick Perry.
Still More… Palin exposes the misogyny in the democratic base.

They are pretty vile over there at the DU website. I noticed that their hatred of her has no real substance, they just don’t like her.
It reminds me of the way the left defamed Katherine Harris, the FL AG during the 2000 election.

I’m sure it’s just a Chicago/Super Bowl thing, but as soon as I saw this, I thought of the Jim McMahon – Pete Rozelle/NFL headband feud. (Course, that was after the hand-scrawled “Rozelle” headband.)

At the Tea Party Convention, Sarah said that we should inform politicians when they do something we disagree with. Then Sarah, I must inform you that you are supporting the wrong Republican candidate in our gubernatorial race. Yes, Rick Perry has done some good for Texas, but his support of toll roads is a deal breaker. His plan is to use public domain to take thousands (maybe millions) of acres of private property and give full control of it to a foreign company. He even wants to put toll booths up on existing roads. We should only have to pay for a road once. The really bad part is that we had the money for these projects and they stole it. Under Perry’s watch all our highway funds were siphoned off for other state projects. This is clearly corrupt, crony business as usual.

[...] I had so much fun Sunday at the rally for Gov. Perry that featured Sarah Palin at the Berry Center in Houston Texas. First Ted Nugent rocked the house with the National Anthem. Dan Patrick warmed up the crowd, although they needed no warming up. I met people who came from San Antonio and Austin. Sarah Palin looked awesome in a black velvet suit and purple (yes purple) knee high suede boots. She came by about two feet from us in the media section and she is even more beautiful in real life. Piper was with her (see her in the pink shirt to Palin's left). She was adorable. You can tell she loves doing this. Sarah talked about the independent spirit of the state of Texas and Alaska and basically all the good Republican stuff about the government that governs best is the government that governs least (AMEN!). The middle picture shows Gov. Perry making Sarah an honorary Texan!Gov. Perry is already up in the polls and this will do nothing but help him. It seems some of the leftwing are trying to make a big deal out of Palin writing words on her hand. Seriously? It amazing to me what they try to do in their pathetic attempt to smear her. Hey, guess she didn't have a teleprompter to give her word for word what she needed to say. But Stephen Spruiell at NRO says it best:I'm trying really hard to figure out why certain left-wing blogs are treating this picture of Sarah Palin reading notes off her hand as some kind of major coup. The notes she had written are "Energy," "[illegible]," Taxes," and "Lift America's spirits." That's some cheat sheet.I get that it's a sort of "turnabout is fair play" from the set that must be very annoyed by now at all the prompter jokes. But it misses the point of why the prompter jokes have caught on. A prompter feeds your remarks to you word for word. The idea that you would need such a device to talk to a room full of sixth graders or a meeting of your own staff is funny. On another level, the prompter jokes took off because they reinforce the substantive argument that Obama is in over his head, because they indicate that he can't perform the the presidency's basic public-speaking duties without a major safety net. I'm not sure what substantive argument Palin's hand-notes are supposed to underline, and I suspect it's not an argument so much as an attitude. The attitude would be that writing on your hand is dumb and low-class. On the left, where this opinion of Palin already prevails, anything which reinforces it will be picked up and cheerfully passed around. And, to the extent that anyone not on the left notices this giddy snobbery, it will play to Palin's strengths. For example, one might say: "Unlike the guy who needs a three thousand dollar teleprompter to get out of bed in the morning, Palin speaks from concise notes like everybody else. And, like other busy moms, she sometimes writes notes on her hand." The comeback is so obvious that, again, I really can't figure out why Palin's detractors are bringing this up at all.Update: Ha! I missed this yesterday. Sarah strikes back at the looney left as only she can. She writes, "Hi Mom!" on her hand at the rally. [...]

I cannot fathom how someone could, with a straight face, compare a few words on the palm of one’s hand with a scrolling teleprompter. And she spoke for over 30 minutes, you read those crib notes in 7 seconds.
Anyway, I’ve concluded a more important for the Big O’s need for a teleprompter.
He revealed it in Baltimore in the Q&A session where he proved to all of the LeftMedia that he can speak without a teleprompter.
Without the strict guidence of the Teleprompter, The One accidently TELLS THE TRUTH.
The Big O actually said, “And I think that some of the provisions that got snuck in might have violated that pledge. ” OOOooooooops.

Only criticism from a point of view of a military aviator…
Notes in ink on the hand for quick reference should be on the back of the hand. The palm would sweat and smear the ink in situations of stress or exertion. The back of the hand does not sweat as much and receives less rubbing in normal use, thus preserving call signs, intercept vectors and snippets of tactical data, etc.
I see Sarah’s notes are clear and legible so I conclude that talking to and lifting up the common sense American people, is not a stressful occasion to her and, by the “Hi, Mom” retort to the unhinged left, she finds peace and fulfillment in the company of patriots.

From Bill Bennett’s show this morning, evidently prior to Palin’s closing address, the convention had been attacked with divisive media promotion. And Palin did a great job uniting the convention audience behind her rhetoric. Palin has a huge talent revving up conservative crowds. And her delivery mannerisms were very traditional, as we all bring notes to the podium when formally addressing an audience. Democrats who nag at bringing a note for reference choke on a gnat while swallowing Obama’s TOTUS camel. Only a loser must read verbatim rather than simply speak from select key words. Obama may be a fluent reader word for word, but we all know what happens when the TOTUS goes too fast for his lip service to thought.
I watched Palin’s address online a day late, and made sure to watch her interview with Chris Wallace on FOX Sunday.
I was disappointed that Palin’s convention address only recapitulated points already made. She did not break new ground. Furthermore, when questioned by Wallace, Palin fell back on generalities rather than stipulating specific points of contention to debunk. For instance, the initial dialogue regarding Obama’s rude manners, “telling Americans to shut up and get out of the way.” She should have brought out Obama’s instance addressing Republicans in Congress who disagreed with the Democrat Health Care legislation to just “be quiet and get out of the way.” Translating Obama’s message into common vernacular is no sin as his antipathy is too clear.
I like Palin. And I was willing to overlook Rick Perry’s huge faults until watching the TX GOV. GOP DEBATES, hearing Perry announce that he would not change the mistakes he made if given the chance to do things over again. And to whip the “pro-life” horse as he did was unforgivable when he claimed that his executive order requiring all Texas females be vaccinated with Gardasil was not only the right thing for him to demand, but somehow proved that he was pro-life. Obama could easily claim the same pro-life stance though his own executive order requiring all Americans be vaccinated against each and every virus that pharmaceuticals produce vaccinations for, like the latest fraud WHO pandemic and American state of emergency from the so-called swine flu.
I was interested to note that Palin supports domestic views that Rep. Ron Paul champions, stipulating that no two people see eye to eye on everything, that “there is no such thing as a perfect candidate.” By addressing the so-called Tea Party Convention (for Skoda’s profit) she should promote candidates who most closely align with the conservative and sometimes independent tea party agenda that FIGHTS GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION. Texas Tea Party GOP county chairperson and successful business woman Debra Medina is campaigning against both Perry and Hutchison for the TX governor’s race.
Debra Medina deserves attention from national figures who presume to support the people’s revolution to unite upon our Constitution to preserve states’ and citizens’ rights and to disembowel government fraud. When Texan viewers see the criticisms that Perry and Hutchison lodge against each other, note well that those faults are NOT Medina’s, but represent career politicians’ corruption. Rather, only Medina has the intestinal fortitude to fight using the Constitution to preserve our Liberty and Unity, live within budget promoting TEXAN businesses to strengthen our state economy to benefit our citizenry, and limit our state taxation below 10% based ONLY upon consumption–no income tax and rescind property taxation.

maverick:
Aside from beating the Longhorns at the Red River Shootout (stick it, PC media), my hope for Texas this year is a strong commitment to actually push back on the 10th Amendment / State Sovereignty. That seems to be shaping up as a major factor in our own races for governor and attorney general. From up here Perry has sounded like he’s serious. Has Medina held any state offices before? If it gets tense between the feds and the states, will she be able to navigate through the dangerous political waters as well as a more seasoned politician?
Since returning to the Constitutional allocation of rights and powers is the only way to fix the mess we’re in, commitment to the 10th Amendment trumps, for me, toll roads and a lot of other faults and blemishes. Of course, since I’m not a Democrat, I can only root from the sidelines instead of voting in both states.

NeoKong,
They all sound like a bunch of third graders. I almost expected to to see someone saying ” Yeah….and I heard she had cooties too but the press won’t cover it “.
In case you have not noticed the “Liberals/progressives/populists” (or whatever they are calling themselves this week) have always behaved like a bunch of spoiled brat third graders. In a great part I think that is why they so hated Reagan, G.W. Bush and now Sarah Palin. They do not like it when they are confronted with adults that will not cave in to their temper tantrums and give them everything they want.
As for “cooties” they have been invoking that in their own special way. See their continued comments about Palin’s son who has Down’s syndrome for an example of that.
Will,
Apparently you do not know the records of either KBH or Bill White.
Either way, for the foreseeable future we will need a governor that will tell Obamao and the Corruptocrats to go to hell and KBH nor that Libertarian Medina have the intestinal fortitude to do so. Bill White certainly will not, in fact he will turn the entire state into an illegal alien haven just like he did with Houston.

Medina’s been actively involved in politics both local and national for years, doing the heavy lifting backstage. If you find their debates online to view, you’ll be surprised as we all were at how strong Medina stands with her knowledge of how our government operates, as she’s been actively involved for decades.
All of the political ads referencing Perry and Hutchison prove the corruption of those career politicians, and support the best choice as Governor to be Medina now.
There’s good reason that Texans don’t historically re-elect a governor longer than two terms. It gets too easy for career politicians to corrupt. And truly, it is no small civil rights matter that Perry issued an executive order requiring the population to take a vaccine that has no long-term follow up records, and does create recognized serious complications and death. And it is no small economic matter for wage earners forced to use of ONE MILE of our local toll road each day in commute to cost $50.00 each month (the established safe non-toll highway was destroyed/reconstructed into toll highway with extremely dangerous merging circumstances that provide no distance/time to instantly change over two lanes in heavy traffic). Maybe Oklahoma is flat with an established gridwork of alternative roads en route for commuters as in the PHX metropolitan area where timed lights actually function @ 45 mph through downtown. NOT SO IN CENTRAL TEXAS.
Since Perry swore he wouldn’t abandon his governorship to run for another office in 2012, referencing God as his witness, he promised he wouldn’t be running for POTUS then. So either he’s telling the truth that he would never accept another public office than Governor of Texas, and would not change his mind after being forced by public outcry to abandon and will repeat his offenses in office, or he is a blatant liar with political aspirations to become the next POTUS. Either way, given the choice to elect Debra Medina and have a politically experienced new and uncorrupted governor, I’ll vote for the stronger Tea Party conservative who doesn’t rabble rouse for secession from the Union for affect like Perry did.

Palin strikes back at handnote handwringers…
"Hi Mom!"Jim Hoft reports: RIGHT ON— On Sunday the left went bonkers after they discovered that the TelePrompter-less former Governor Sarah Palin wrote notes on the palm of her left hand for her speech to the National Tea Party Convention in …

A brilliant synopsis regarding Palin and the Tea Party Zeitgeist is composed by C. Edmund Wright @ American Thinker. Highlights below, but link to read his cogent points:
For Sarah Palin and many others, the Tea Party movement is precisely about reversing all of that nonsense. Thus, in this context, Bush Republicanism must be ignored and replaced. Talk of a third party must be swatted aside. The imminent threat is the liberal agenda, period. … While dismissing loyalty to party for party’s sake, her vision of the future is clearly one where limited government proponents win primaries leading up to the midterms of 2010. With a clear rejection of the “both parties are equally bad” dogma, she is referring to Republican primaries. …Obviously she was trying to tie the angst with Wall Street to crony capitalism via “Washington picking winners and losers.” She also once mentioned wanting “government out of the way.” …It is vital that Palin becomes stronger and more cogent on this than she was Saturday. As we know, the bumbling fumbling non-ideological McCain campaign only served to muddy these issues. … While some Tea Party goers were hung up on single issues like TARP or immigration or AIG bonuses or even NAFTA, they were in the minority. Not everyone held passions consistent with the Santelli inspiration or with Palin’s emphasis, but it is beyond debate that the heart of the movement is a conservative pro-business, pro self-reliance anti-big government sentiment. And with this maturation of the movement and its new place in the spotlight, more message coherence is going to be needed. It cannot be all things to all people forever, though some of that dynamic was no doubt instrumental in some of the large early crowds. Palin is the most natural leader of this leaderless-by-design movement. Her keynote speech was a good — but not great — start to the philosophical distillation process necessary. This movement is all about the Constitution, and the most recent historically successful manifestation of this thinking was the Reagan Revolution. Palin instinctively understands that and made that clear. This is good. …

I see anonymous up there is all wee wee’d up because Palin “acts like this all the time just to be cute”. If you put yourself out there with some dumb ass position on a speaker taking notes to a podium, and then get mocked, well man up and take your lumps.
And of course the DU commenters also got worked up about “Christian jewelry” that Palin was wearing. Well some folks wear a cross–and others wear gang tattoos.

The only ones being “played” are Obamao worshiping fools like you. You should learn from history what happens to people like you and your ilk once you have served your purpose. Look up the name Ernst Rohm.

Love that woman. Tim Tebow added insult to injury with the Super Bowl ad. The ENTIRE world now knows what insolent creeps the “progressive left” are, and the majority in America are pointing and laughing at how dumb they truly are.
It’s funmy and sad at the same time.

Palin is a joke. Yes, she is an entertainer but nothing else. She might be very conservative but please let someone else lead us that knows politics. She even embarrassed McCain when she was running for V.P. All of you conservatives that like her need to wake up. We are in trouble if she runs for President. She will embarrass us once again.

anon — “God you people are stupid.”
Speaking of stupid, and the references here to that cringe-worthy moment: Barry’s very own “corpseman” — it got me thinking. Surely someone close to POTUS with TOTUS heard him mispronounce it.
So maybe you could tell us: why did no one correct him? I mean, anyone with a brain would have wanted to prevent him from looking like a fool. Or stupid.
Oh, but wait..this is the Narcissist in Chief we’re talking about. They’d know the fallout would have been pretty ugly…yeah, I’ll bet eyes were bugging out, they’re all looking at one another, like, “should we?” – “you wanna do it?” —
Or then there’s always the possibility they thought “corpseman” sounded just fine.

I’m not saying it’s nefarious. I’m saying that if she’s such a rebel, then why is she backing the establisment candidates and not the Tea Partyish candidates? Gee, you mean politicians say one thing and do another? I’m saying don’t be so quick to go gaga over her like the left did Obama. You’re left with a vapid empty suit for a leader.
Please provide the checklist of rebel criteria down to the local zoning ordinances required prior to backing a regional candidate. Since the Tea Party is supposedly comprised of a wide spectrum of political views, you’ll probably not agree on every issue. But who knows, your list may be the exception. And for the record, I don’t go gaga over anyone, but I do accept the fact that anyone running for office isn’t required to meet my individual litmus test for perfection.
Vote for Sam Drucker, Hooterville Postmaster—he delivers!

Please point out the substance in your comment, and maybe, just maybe, someone will take you seriously. And I think John McCain embarrassed himself by stating he really didn’t understand economics, and then suspending his campaign to address the economic meltdown. But your mileage may vary.
Oh, I got two words for you regarding a vice presidential joke—Joe Biden! Thank goodness we dodge that Palin bullet, when you have a circus you need clowns.

First it was ‘teabaggers’, now it’s Sarah’s ‘hand job.’ What is it with the left’s obsession with juvenile sex jokes? It’s almost like those geriatric hippies never grew up.
It is because their morals are on a rather low level.
These notes on the Gov. Palin’s hands reminds me of something that Slick Willy actually told me just a few months after his disasterous nominating speech of Dukakis. He said that 10 minutes prior to him making the speech the Dukakis people came to him with all kinds of stuff they wanted him to include in the speech. He said it completely messed him up.
Maybe he should have written on his hands.
Either way, it wasn’t going to help Dukakis.

Um, you do realize that Sarah used a teleprompter for her speech. She apparently needed to be reminded of her conservative principles (lower taxes, energy, lift spirits) for her Q&A after the speech. Liberals are not fuming; they are laughing. And it is humorous that you mock Obama for using teleprompters (which all politicians use) but don’t forget his performance with the Republican caucus. Do you think Sarah could do as well? I suppose she now knows what magazines she reads.

You know what . . . I watched her whole speech and don’t remember a teleprompter. I do remember that she looking something on the podium. She appeared to have notes to use, not just her hand notes.
There are 2 ways people learn to speak: 1) Clue words: words that spark what you want to cover at that point. It makes it more spontaneous without losing your points; 2) Scripted speech: this requires a teleprompter or at least notes that are on paper in rather large print. This is the method used by B.O. When I speak, I use method #1.

Well, B.O.’s perceived IQ turned out really wrong. There are still people who think B.O. is smart. Thankfully the number of people who think he is smart is less and less.
Maybe Dems/lefties are getting smarter. Nah . . . that would mean they actually open up their mind and quit being robots.
