A majority of democrats like socialism.

Gallup poll revealed that most democrats like socialism.
Patriot Room reported:
Yes, this is real: ” More than one-third of Americans (36%) have a positive image of “socialism,” while 58% have a negative image. Views differ by party and ideology, with a majority of Democrats and liberals saying they have a positive view of socialism, compared to a minority of Republicans and conservatives.”
No wonder they like Barack Obama.
And, of course, we know where the state-run media stands:

Well what do you expect, they learned what America was all about while in school, evil and no-good. It’s very destructive what the schools are doing to our young.
Answer me this, why do people flee from oppressive socialism in places like Mexico and then sign on supporting socialism in America …
No one teaches American history, principles and values anymore

Yes. Government will institute the utopia we crave.
It will create our perfect society,
fairly and equitably distributed.
With no political favoritism.
We are the ones we have been waiting for.

Now let’s see an analysis of what percentage of All Americans would BENEFIT from socialism. Deduct that from the percentage of All Americans that have a favorable view, and you can see how many crazies there really are.

They do not know what they are voting about. I agree with #1. They were taught about some amorphous “socialism” in school, but not anything else about it, other than, “It’s Good!”
They weren’t taught, INTENTIONALLY, what the various brands of socialism have done, how many millions of their people the socialism-embracing nations of the world have killed through state-sponsored intentional starvation, through mass-murder of peasants and farmers, through mass-imprisonments.
They simply do not know.
THANKS, DEMOCRATS!
You’ve made America IGNORANT.
Be proud.

So conservatives are officially vindicated for thinking Obama’s policies are a Bolshevik conspiracy. Ammo for the so-called bipartisan meeting? Wanna bet this poll will get absolutely no coverage other than FNC.

Bill Bennett said in the 80’s (even back then)
If what was done to our education system by the Democrats had been done by an outside entity, it would be tantamount to an act of war.
I agree. They have made as many Americans utterly ignorant as possible, and on purpose.
To what end? You see it in the White House and in Congress and in the MSM. The seeds of stupidity that these people have planted are now RIPE for the pickin’ – there are enough completely ignorant, logic-free people in the United States, thanks to Democrats and their schools and their MSM and their entertainment/propaganda, that they will fall for just about anything.
How do you tell that big a population of people that they have been made intentionally stupid for political reasons? And if you can do that, how do you convince them of the fact, when they have also been devoided of all logic and reason? They’ll just think you’re being mean and gratuitously insulting.
Democrats have programmed the perfect un-deprogrammable population. Make them ignorant, make them unable to process information, feed them nothing but lies for their entire lives. Voila! Robot-for-life.

…and it’s not being mean. They truly don’t know anything important about the world events of the last century, because the Socialist public schools intentionally withheld all that data. They could have learned on their own, outside the schools, I suppose, but the Socialist public schools also, as a redundant, failsafe programming method, also made them HATE to read and learn (also intentional)., so that even after their time being programmed by the schools, the odds of their learning anything about the events of the 20th century on their own were SLIM TO NONE.
Resisting the urge, still, to pray for the delivery of smoking, flaming, sulfurous meteors.

Heard this a while ago on the radio.
About half the country would like to live in a feudal type society where the King takes care of their every need, and would willingly give up their freedom to be taken care of.
The other half of the country rejects that notion, and wants to control their own destiny and be free.
We know how this comes out politically.

Let’s carry out socialism to the logical conclusion. Today, socialism exists elsewhere because it doesn’t exist here. When a crisis in the world comes up, we get the call, expend our resourses and treasure to try and solve it. In the Obama utopia, we get to let someone else pay the check; but, who will that be? Will there be Chinese troops in Korea and Japan, and Russian troops in Germany and the Middle East? Who will look out for the rest of the world while we are on Socialist sabbatical? Ah, they probably haven’t worked out that important detail yet… Lots of luck with that one.

This is why a literacy test should be administered before allowing someone to vote. I know, I know, in the past literacy tests were intended to keep races other than whites from voting, but that time has passed, and everyone has an opportunity to be educated if they desire. But… if a person has no desire to truly understand America and Democracy, do we really want them helping to decide our future? There are millions of people smarter than I, and if a majority want a different direction that I believe wise, well then I’ve been outvoted; just don’t foist a ticket to Crapville on me because some idiot managed to mobilize the MTV/Simpson’s vote…

Three kinds of people think socialism is ginchy…one is the sort of person who wants to sound deep, intellectual, and “progressive” but doesn’t realize that under socialism, you don’t get cool toys like iPhones or that dream house with all of the fancy upgrades. It’s a pose, not a deeply held conviction. It was sold to them in public education and in college.
Another sort is a “true believer.” He knows exactly what socialism entails and thinks it’s wonderful. He might be a red diaper baby or someone locked in perpetual rebellion against society. He’s also in the teeny-tiny minority.
The third sort is someone who has absolutely no stake in anything and believes everybody owes him. He pays no taxes, doesn’t own anything, might depend on “services.” He thinks it’s great people in other countries get all kinds of freebies and if only we’d eat the rich here, he’d get them too.
I’m not surprised these people exist. What’s baffling and depressing are the percentages of conservatives/Republicans who have a positive view of socialism. It ought to be not a point above 0%. Do these people not understand socialism? Or do they not understand conservatism?
February 10th, 2010 | 11:42 am | #19
Ask anyone who has lived under socialism about how they like socialism. I’m sure you wouldn’t find one person who lived under socialism who liked it…….more like hated it with every fiber of their being. The only people who like socialism are those who lord their power over those under socialism or those too stupid to know better. I would imagine democrats/liberals believe themselves to be superior to republicans/conservatives, and this is probably why they like socialsim – they believe they will be in a position of power and will not be affected negatively – morons.

If classrooms would teach properly, there wouldn’t be 36% of Americans having a positive view of socialism due to the fact that it hasn’t worked. Ever. Even small scale socialism has failed. (If I hear one more time that communism is great in theory, I’m going to puke.)
It’s interesting that 20% of Conservatives have a positive view and 17% of Republican leaners have a positive view. Not a huge margin of difference, but I’d think it would be opposite. Perhaps it’s within the margin of error.

Unfortunately this split in ideology is likely headed for either civil war or for mass extermination of portions of the population like what happened in several large powerful nations in the 20th century. I personally prefer to fight back rather than just be exterminated.
Is there any way to head this off at this point?? Without God, likely not.

That was my first thought, Jackson. If libtards think socialism is so great, why do they get so defensive and ugly when I say that Obamao and the Dems in WA DC are socialists?
That 17% Republicans and 20% conservatives like socialism is troubling.

True. We cannot by our direct action head this off. If Joel chapter 2 is any guide, especially the latter half of it, there is a way we can head this off, and that is: we – His people – have to turn back to God in a big way. Seems like the threat of annihilation would get us to do so, but so many have gone their own ways, fallen from the path.
He will prevail. Things will be set right. But basically he’s saying…we can do this the easy way…or the hard way. People are stubborn sometimes.
As to fighting it tooth and nail, this nascent totalitarianism, whether we actually should is a really good question. Does one try to stop God when God is intentionally punishing a nation? I mean we kill babies, nonstop! and go to church on Sunday with the abortionist! I don’t mean to sound like Ward Churchill with the chickens and the roosting and all that, but if there is a Just God, how could he ignore even that one indictment? And if he did decide that the time had come to show the people what’s what, who are we to stop it?
I don’t think we’ll see Civil War…I think we’re beyond that. We will see plenty of injustice. And hopefully we’ll see the end part of Joel 2, and a return to the way things were meant to be.

People are lazy because our systems made them that way. I know plenty of perfectly healthy people who are satisfied with unemployment payments and no insurance, not because they can’t work, but because it’s easier not to.
Throw in a dose of “uneducated” and it’s not difficult to see why they are afraid of hard work.
When these lazy, uneducated drones constantly hear about the “party of no” eith the good graces of the mainstream media, it’s no wonder Obama and his crew look so good to them.
Stupid is as stupid does.

This is only a “shocker” to conservatives who don’t know what the hell they’re talking about and consider the term “socialism” to be interchangeable with “communism” or “fascism” or “Marxism” or whatever other moronic leftover Cold War paranoia-infused ideas happen to be floating around in their ignorant heads. Socialism does not equal totalitarianism or even authoritarianism, and socialism and capitalism are not mutually exclusive. There are varying degrees and concepts of socialism, but a general description of it might be a system where the government directly owns and operates key industries and services that are necessary for society to function, and leverages this control into distributing the benefits of these industries and services to all of its citizens equally, which is a perfectly sensible and sustainable way of doing things. Given this definition of socialism, of which I support, if I was asked in this poll if I have a positive view of “socialism”, with no other qualifiers whatsoever, then I would most likely say “yes”. To a reasonable, informed person this would not be a controversial mode of thinking, but to most conservatives, who are reactionaries first and foremost and thinkers only if they can manage to “conserve” any brainpower to use for actual thought after spending most of it on angst-filled ranting and raving, it’s high treason.

And most of these Democrats have never seen actual Socialism at work. After all, they’re all American, never had the Iron Curtain on their doorstep. And many of them were still in their diapers when the Cold War ended.
I’m so glad I grew up some 60 miles away from the Iron Curtain and could see the gory glory of socialism all the time.

I defected from Czechoslovakia in 1983. It was a socialist country occupied by Russians. We were all equally miserable and poor. The only wealthy ones were the members of Communist party who held Govt and top management jobs. There is nothing as hopeless and depressing as socialism. One thing the welfare recipients who idolize socialism do not realize is that under a socialist regime it is illegal NOT TO WORK for more than 6 weeks. If you are unable to find a job based on your education, the State will put you to work, hence lot of people with talent and education ended up as bartenders or garbage men, street sweepers on poverty wage because without Communist party affiliation they could not find a job in their qualification sphere. If you do not become a member of Communist party, you have a nill chance to be promoted to management. We were not allowed to travel to the Capitalist countries without a special permit from the Govt… I ultimately traveled to Yugoslavia and illegaly crossed a border (and yes there were armed troops guarding the border and people died attempting the same) to Italy where I applied for political exile with American consulate. That was the price of freedom for me. I was 19 at the time and knew I could never return to that country and will never see my parents (who then lost their jobs as a result of me defecting to USA), never see my brother or any other family members…. Fortunately several years later Czechland broke free from the Socialist bondage.
