HERE WE GO–
Andrew Breitbart just introduced tonight’s speaker SARAH PALIN.

Mindy and Madison were excited to hear Sarah Palin. They blogged this weekend, too.

I gave them a few pointers before dinner.
Mike Kadela Founding Bloggers

Sarah Palin

Mike Kadela Founding Bloggers

PJTV was livestreaming the entire speech.

At National Tea Party Convention Sarah Palin tells the crowd, “We need a Commander in Chief not a law professor.”

Sarah Palin at the National Tea Party Convention spoke about President Obama’s national security policies. She told the president that our military is to be applauded not apologized for.

Sarah gave a great speech to her tea party supporters tonight in Nashville. She offered plenty of red meat mixed in with her common sense free market message. Sarah makes a great spokesman for the movement in that she represents your typical hardworking, patriotic, sincere, God-fearing American that is so often overlooked by the media elites and our “betters” in Washington DC. It was an historic evening and Sarah put on a great show.
What a great time.

Sarah Palin urged tea party protesters to help reshape and rebuild the Republican Party. She would make a great GOP chairperson if she wanted the role.

Founding Bloggers has more photos.

UPDATE: Graycen C. sent these terrific photos.

Glenn Reynolds
has amazing photos from behind the stage during Sarah’s speech.

I’m watching Sarah Palin and I’ve got to tell you, I know a few conservatives or self-proclaimed conservatives who have bought the media template on Mrs. Palin.

    She is THE BEST.

“senior lecturer” of apprentice substitute, he ought to know better than to claim on national TV that the Supreme Court overturned a century of precident when the cases and legislation involved were much more recent.

And, he ought to know better than to select an Attorney General who has no idea what precedent is!

Do you mean that some people want Obama to prove his eligibility for the job.

Anyone who follows conservative thought would conclude that Ms. Palin’s address to the Tea Party Nation was… boilerplate.

To that I say FANTASTIC! The constitution is boilerplate. Simple. Easy to read. Bill of rights. How many words? How to interpret? Case law? Stare decisis? NO! Read it , damn it!
    Verrrrrryyyy clear.

To win the middle, you need a consistent message. As a movement, the Tea Party has only been at it a year or less. Pound the idea.

Isn’t it ironic that she knocks Obama for being charismatic when that’s the basis of her own appeal? He may read off of a teleprompter, but he didn’t need anyone to tell him why there is both a North and South Korea, or what the Federal Reserve does.

I’m so glad there is someone left in the world that still loves Obama! I’m sure he will give you a tax-payer-paid-for tee shirt for your gushing defense of him.

Ya think maybe those who enrich themselves at the public trough fear their exposure? Huh?
There is corruption in all of DC politics, and all of state politics. On both sides. Palin has a track record and has run (and wildly succeeded) on the exposure of such cronyism.

Ken: It clearly hasn’t occurred to you that Obama could not have done that speech … from point form notes. Without having a verbatim script to read from the prompter, the man is lost and turns into a stumble bum.

I’ll give Obama one thing though, he is likely the best teleprompt “reader” around.

    retire05No Gravatar
    February 6th, 2010 | 9:48 pm | #42

What a bunch of morons trolls are. They whine about a few birthers but I can promise you, they were the loudest voices demanding to see every page of Bush’s military records. Yes, Ken, I am sure that applies to you.

Palin can at least give a speech in front of people without having three teleprompters (yes, Obama uses three as one is on the floor, although I don’t know how he reads it as his nose is always stuck up in the air).

But that’s OK, trolls. We know that you are afraid of anyone who thinks that we should stick to our Constitution. After all, you progressives have been trying to destroy it for over 100 years. Ahhh, too bad. You haven’t managed to do that quite yet, and golly gee, now we have Americans who are really reading it and are saying “Whoa, just a minute. What you are trying to do to us just ain’t there, bubba.”

Your days are numbered. You know it, and we know it, and it makes you crazy so you attach that which you fear. You see one negative sign at a Tea party rally and label everyone there a radical. So here is the deal, it’s right back at you. I intend to send everyone I know the photo of the woman at the Obama rally holding the flag with the hammer and sickle on it and claim that is what all Obama supporters represent.

You see, trolls, you were not the only ones who read Saul Alinsky. We did too and we are about to find out how you like being Alinskized.

This movement is not about the (R) or the (D). It’s about the constitution and taking our country back by securing the borders as well as creating sound fiscal policy independent of the Rhoades, Bilderbergers, EU, NWO or UN. It’s about kicking all the bums out. (soros is peeing his pants)
We don’t care if her voice is high pitched because she’s nervous. She is a Patriot and speaks our language. Patriots are not concerned with if she has a R or a D. or what she wears or how she speaks. We hear her speak the language of the Republic and the constitution. She is as tough as nails and smart as a fox so don’t let yourself get all bent out of shape with partisan politics. just watched Ed Schultz on PMSNBC with a guy named Lionel(not sure who he is actually) and the libs are plotzing in their pants over Sarah Palins presence tonight and in the coming months, endorsing candidates—he said she is “radioactive” (in a good way i assume)–that she will continue to draw crowds and energize the crowd—a force to be reckoned with. The libs are petrified of this Tea Party Movement that 1) they will continue to fuel the betrayal and deceit felt by those who bought into the Hope &Change, 2) that the TP will use the libs tricks—of mockery and ridicule –to label the libs as ELITISTS and PROGRESSIVES as evil–I say give them a taste of their own medicine—and hope it tastes as bitter and offensive, shove it down their throats!!! It IS time for us all to get LOUD and BIG in our message to them—We will not let them destroy this Republic without a fight. GO SARAH!!!

She does have experience unless you don’t count being Governor and Mayor. Anatomy Of Malignant Narcissism

Read the entire article, this describes Mr. Obama, it is frightening for the country.

In 1970, Otto Kernberg coined the term, “malignant narcissism”; he pointed out that the antisocial personality was fundamentally narcissistic and without morality. Malignant narcissism includes a sadistic element, creating, in essence, a sadistic psychopath. In this essay, “malignant narcissism” and psychopathy are employed interchangeably.

    ——————————————————————————–

Imagine, as an abuse survivor of someone with malignant narcissism or narcissistic personality disorder, giving your life over to a psychopath, and doing it with trust and a firm belief in his authority. What if said psychopathic conman, was advising victims? It seems absurd, that an abuser would advise the abused. It seems even more absurd, that the abused would take the advice to heart. Yet it happened to me, till I got wise to it and learned more about this disorder, and its largely superficial resemblance to narcissistic personality disorder, or garden variety “narcissism”.

Psychopaths are known to be grandiose, to distort reality, to be contemptuous of human beings, and to be completely without conscience . To ask such a malignant narcissist for advice is to suffer life consequences. Are his words really full of “truth” and “insight” and “care” for the victims?

Recently, I came across the following exchange in part 40 of the psychopath’s “narcissism list”:

    Question

Why do his victims feel they are turning into narcissists themselves?

    Answer

Narcissism is contagious. The narcissism creates a “bubble universe”, similar to a cult. In this bubble, special rules apply.

These rules do not always correspond to outer reality.

Using complex defence mechanisms, such as projective identification, the narcissist forces his victims – spouse, mate, friend, colleague – to “play a role” assigned to him by “God” – the narcissist.

The narcissist rewards compliance with his script and punishes any deviation from it with severe abuse.

In other words, the narcissist CONDITIONS people around him using intimidation, positive and negative reinforcements and feedback, ambient abuse (“gaslighting”), covert, or controlling abuse, and overt, classical abuse.

Thus conditioned, the narcissist’s victims gradually come to assimilate the narcissist’s way of thinking (follies a-deux) [sic] and his modus operandi – his methods.

You can abandon the narcissist – but the narcissist never abandons you.

He is there, deep inside your traumatic memories, lurking, waiting to act out. You have been modified, very much like an alien snatching bodies.

    Analysis

Here is a perfect example of why it is dangerous to listen to the distorted, grandiose, psychopathic musings of a self-proclaimed “expert” on narcissism.

    1) He misinterprets the question. He doesn’t interpret it as fear and concern. He presumes that the victims have become like their tormentor. There is no ability even to relate to the question- without empathy*, he cannot see what the real question is.

    2) Narcissism is not contagious. Any lax behaviour may lead to disinhibiting behaviour in others, and that’s a valid psychological construct. If a narcissist sneezes, does that mean you’re gonna catch N germs? If you think about it, his statement isn’t even within the grasp of reality or logic. It’s nigh impossible to “catch” narcissism.

    3) Some pathologically disordered narcissists and psychopaths create a cult like atmosphere: in this “cult” there is pressure to conform after manipulating your reality. You may find yourself doing things you normally wouldn’t. Part of it is due to disinhibiting behaviour. The rest is due to groupthink (simplistically speaking) and brainwashing and subtle forms of intimidation which include guilt-making and shunning.

They are not “forcing” you into a role- they are enforcing the role they presume everyone plays. They are not capable of distinguishing between their delusions and a human being standing before them. Again, it is grandiose of a psychopath to think that they have the power to force you into a “role” and that it is a given that it is always successful.

4)There is no such animal as the “inverted narcissist”. The only ones who totally buy into the cult leader’s reality, and usually become his handmaidens and henchmen, are not inverted narcissists. They are just like the leader, only he is more adept at getting and keeping power than they are- kinda like ‘Dr Evil’ and ‘Mini-Me’. They are just ‘Mini-Me’s’ and their use of each other is reciprocal.

5)He misuses the term “folies a deux” (and misspells it), which is reserved in psychiatric diagnoses for a shared psychosis (very rare)- which means neither person is in touch with reality. From his distorted apprehension, this would mean that the victim becomes the pathological narcissist. If there’s any “projective identification” going on here it is the psychopath’s, who believes that everyone is really just like him; there is also massive grandiosity in that he believes he has the power to self-replicate by transforming others into carbon copies of himself and his world.

6)If you take a good look at the paragraphs you can see that they are only loosely associated. In terms of underlying logic, we are the ones filling in the gaps. It is all smoke and mirrors. There is only significance without substance in his facile claims.

    * cf. his definition of ‘empathy’- “We are coached to feel guilt and pain when we inflict suffering on another person. Empathy is an attempt to avoid our own self-imposed agony by projecting it onto another.” S Vaknin

    Summary:

    1) The psychopath, incapable of empathy, doesn’t understand the question.

    2) He is convinced that everyone is just like him.

3)He is convinced that he has the godlike power to transform anyone.

    4) He is convinced that he has the godlike power to force anyone to do his bidding.

5)He is convinced that he has dominion over (and dominates) all things, including human beings.

    6) He is convinced that he is successful in all his ventures.

    Observations:

~~ As a detective he is useless: the evidence suggests to him that he can make anyone like he is-that he has the power; but in truth, he believes that everyone is like him and he seeks to enforce that delusion- he has no power but it is imperative to do whatever it takes to sustain the delusion. And so he brags to feed his narcissism.

~~ His thoughts, and offerings (including facts), are loosely associated and impressionistic, with no real substance or basis in reality. They depend far more on impression and impressing than on fact and logic. This suggests there is a true cognitive deficit in thinking, and the usual psychopathic agenda, embroidered throughout with histrionic morbidity.

    Conclusion:

a)The outcome of the psychopath’s grand delusions is that he confuses followers in a cult with narcissists, and survivors with narcissists.

b)If he does not understand the question, then he is incapable of an answer grounded in reality. Given his inability to understand, especially a “feeling” question, we need to take care to question a malignant narcissist’s credibility.

    c) To listen to and believe the ramblings of a psychopath is dangerous for victims/survivors. It is to invite the psychopathic unreality into our psyches and lives. A psychopathic world is a totalitarian world.

He has no perception of us as human beings. He believes we are all like him. He believes that we cannot be healed, and has even said so. He cannot understand the question. And, therefore, any answers he gives are inadequate, incompetent, fraudulent, and serve only his delusions and beliefs.

He is not capable of anything else. He is emotionally and cognitively handicapped. He is not capable of cogent or coherent thought or speech. (cf.Hervey Cleckley’s ‘Mask of Sanity’)

Anyone who, having been disoriented once, believes him, as he glibly throws some impressive concepts and ‘facts’ into the mix (they’ are also good at snow jobs- wouldn’t know parsimony in thought if they fell over it), becomes enthralled again to the totality of psychopathic distortion; they are misled and misdirected away from their inherent integrity and their strivings- their human uniqueness, and especially their very real suffering, deleted. He has no conception of humanity and no understanding of himself- he can only tell us what he wants himself to hear. Moreover, he enjoys pulling the wool over our eyes, this ‘duping delight’. This is not even a question of hatred towards him. He is a psychopath, a common conman, and he thinks and acts like one. Totally.

So. Question, challenge, be aware, and beware the con.

Truth Laid Bear keeps a list of all popular blogs. Many, left or right, are unlike this one and nix all trolls and contrarians. First, I like Sarah Palin, second I strongly dislike her enemies, third, I am in general support of “tea party” sentiments.

Now, I really was not impressed and I grow less impressed every time I see Palin. I keep waiting for her to break out and go into some abstractions. Instead, we get a list of things we already know. This speech was boring to me. The effect is, even though I agree with her on her stands, she is only speaking to the converted.

I understand there are many people who will always remain unconvinced and committed opponents of conservatives, but you can’t just “plough through” media animus as Palin claims. You can’t call them the “lamestream” media as a political candidate and expect they will not take it personal and go after you and also expect that they can’t harm you because there are “more” of us. That just isn’t realistic.. You have to respond to Katie Couric by either telling her you read certain newspapers like the NY Times and Washington Post, and then say you read OTHER newspapers to get more perspective … unlike many in Washington. OR you question the question outright and are prepared for a fight. But what she did was the worst of both worlds.

That was a while ago but she hasn’t learned anything since. She’s way too simplistic and it sounds like she is just repeating pablum. I like her, I think she’s real, I agree with her on most things, but I don’t think she is either a good leader or even a good spokesperson for the cause.

When she mentioned actual policy she sounded like she was reading the speech in a language she wasn’t all too familiar with. To put it another way, she sounded like an opera singer, well-coached, but singing in a foreign language.

It also seemed at times like her mouth sped ahead of her eyes, and you could see her eyes go blank as she didn’t know what to say next. I put that down to nerves and expect she’ll get better.

    Somebody mentioned malignant narcissism.

Virtually all successful politicians are narcissistic. And conservatives are on the right track when they are skeptical of the smooth and slick. Honest people usually exhibit normal social emotions such as public nervousness. But one has to be careful about what to look for and when to speak out. It is far too easy to be suckered into weak positions, aided by groupthink, only to have those positions smashed apart by cunning operators at just the right time. The smartest thing is to always go with the facts, and never common folly.
