Let’s hope he took it for a spin around the White House and honked a few times before he headed to work.

Senator Scott Brown (R-Mass.) drove his truck to work this week. He parked it across from Capital Hill. President Obama mocked Brown and his truck during the election.
FOX News Blog reported, via Free Republic:

The newest member of the Senate, Scott Brown (R-MA) just finished casting his first votes of his Senatorial career today but what might be equally important to his supporters is that his beloved green GMC truck, one of the most memorable symbols of the campaign, has arrived at the Capitol. Brown’s staff said he and his wife drove it down from Massachusetts.

Brown used the truck to crisscross Massachusetts during his historic campaign, and it played a prominent role in his campaign ads as well as his opponent’s.

After his upset victory over Democrat Martha Coakley, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell told Brown that he could park it anywhere he’d like on Capitol Hill. Looks like Brown has taken McConnell up on the offer.

The snow-covered pickup was parked just outside of Brown’s office building, across from the Capitol, where it will likely make a regular appearance. Senators are permitted to park close to their offices.

Compare that with the other Senator from Massachusetts. When was the last time John Kerry actually drove himself somewhere and was not chauffeured in a limo…? Teddy K too.
Although it may seem like a minor thing to drive yourself somewhere it shows that Scott Brown isn’t some Washington elitist who thinks he is part of America’s ruling class. Unless he had that vehicle delivered to Washington he drove himself down there.

Think about it. Do you think Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid would ever drive themselves somewhere ? Do you think that Barbara Boxer or Dianne Feinstein have their own cars parked outside their office that they shoveled out the other day. Does chuck Schumer drive himself ? I doubt it.
Do you think he would ever fly coach ?
Maybe as some sort of political stunt but he would make sure there were plenty of cameras there to capture all his folksy commonness and afterwards he would shower.

I would bet that Hillary Clinton has not touched the steering wheel of an auto in close to twenty years and probably never will for the rest of her life. I bet that Barack Obama and his wife Michelle will never ever drive themselves anywhere for the rest of their lives. They will use the Secret service details to chauffeur them everywhere till the end of time because they now think of themselves as American royalty and you are privileged to meet them. Twenty years from now I bet Scott Brown will still be outside scraping the ice off his windshield by himself.

Someone should do a documentery on how our various governing royals travel about.
Imagine Barney Frank at the wheel of his XKE convertible.

Scott needs a bigger truck. Diesel. 4X4.

With a push blade in front to clear out the riff raff, er, snow, that’s in the way.

Up here in MA it was reported that he drove the truck, with the dogs in it, to DC.

I’m in the market for a Ford F-250 and a Fat Boy. Don’t tell my life insurance agent.

Won’t ever buy a Guvmint Motors Corp. vehicle, or a Chrysler.

Scott Brown should put a snow plow on the front of his truck to show the DC folks how us New Englanders deal with the snow!

I love what his truck represents and the fact it is in DC….reminds me of what Monica Crowley said about Sarah’s “Hi Mom” written on her hand…it really was a message to Gibbs saying, “Bite Me”!

Same thing. I love how the tables are turning. Wait, wait. Not the tables turning, the sea levels are rising, the water is parting…hahaha!

You can tell a lot about a man by the stickers in the back window of his truck. Great Scott!
The “PALIN 2012″ sticker on my back window says all that needs to be said!

Scott Brown is one of the people, God bless him. We are having white-out conditions here in the D.C. Area today with high winds. The federal government is closed, He is probably one of the few that showed up today.

Let me know when he casts a vote that can be criticized as “moderate.” He voted against cloture for the SEIU Lawyer NLRB wannabe.

    So far, so good.

    Dear Senator Brown,

It is with sheer delight, and some might term it “a tingling” delight, that you have our permission (and fervent backing) to park your vehicle directly on the swelled heads of President Fraud Fairy Dust and his Yeti-spouse.

    Sincerely yours,

I hope he doesn’t end up disappointing, but so far I really like Brown, except for his intellectually lazy position on abortion. Even so, at least he supports the rights of religious hospitals and such to respect their own standards and conscience.
