Let it snow. Let is snow. Let it snow.
The weekend snowstorm shut down the US Senate on Monday. The democrats were hoping to vote for another $80 billion stimulus jobs bill on Monday. Now they will have to put off the vote until Tuesday or later.

People walk through the snow-covered streets of Washington, DC. The US east coast braced for a new major winter storm Tuesday after record snowfall left thousands of people shivering in the dark without power, transportation paralyzed and the federal government shut down. (AFP/Jewel Samad)

CBS reported:

Much of Washington is at a standstill today because of the heavy snow that has blanketed the district. The Senate has delayed its work schedule for a day, including a vote on a jobs bill — but it appears to be more than just the snow delaying Senate action.

“We do believe very emphatically that we’re going to be able to have a bipartisan bill on Monday,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said last week. Reid said Democrats would introduce legislation with or without Republican support, even though they need at least one GOP vote to get past a filibuster.

Lawmakers are still negotiating, however, over issues such as how to pay for the legislation, Politico reports. Republicans are reportedly opposed to using returned bank bailout funds for the bill, which Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch estimated would cost $80 billion. The centerpiece of the bill is likely to be a tax credit for small and medium-sized companies that hire new employees.

Related… A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 75% of likely voters now say they are at least somewhat angry at the government’s current policies, up four points from late November and up nine points since September. The overall figures include 45% who are Very Angry,

As with healthcare, we are watching, do not do it.
We can not spend our way out of this mess.

Another 12″ of snow with a follow-up of 6″ of rain – sounds good to me! Maybe that sewer can finally be flushed down the river!

Obama called it “snowmageddon here in D.C.”.

    I disagree.
He should call it “Snow-bal Warming”.

I think God’s showing DC two things: 1- global warming isn’t man made and we aren’t bigger than He, and 2- we’re all better off when big government isn’t in session.

That gets them one day closer to Iran’s promised “shocker.”

Iran didn’t dare try this with Bush. They obviously feel they can push Obama and the spineless Democrats around.

If the White House Chicago Machine would apply some of that “ramming” and arm twisting to the Iranian regime, instead of phony healthcare and cap and trade and TARP and STIMULUS, the world would be a safer place.

It would’ve been funnier and more ironic if the blizzard would’ve kept them from voting on crap and tax instead.

Obama proposed a government freeze and… we got one! Has anyone noticed that non-essential departments (which is most of the Federal Government) are not open — and life just goes on.

    Happy Birthday President Reagan

In honor of Reagan’s Birthday, Washington D.C. has been closed, and decorated with trillions of tiny snowflakes, one for each one of the dollars the existing administration plans on spending.

Residents have been urged to celebrate by going out and conducting commerce, resulting in many neighborhood stores sporting empty shelves.

And Murtha won’t be there to vote for anything.

You’ll notice how, with all their talk of ramming disgusting bills through, the Democrats resemble rapists. What about ‘No’ do they not understand?

That’s clearly the fault of Bush’s jewish weather control machine.

Now the Dems have to make up for it by spending not 80 billions, but rather 160 billions.

    @BuryMeInAGeorgeWashingtonTShirt

Well, they argue it’s for the “greater good”, which is the best sign to spot a communist. Communism propagates actions, no matter how murderous and horrible, are done for the “greater good”, as opposed to a Nazi, who does the same actions for the national blood line or the race.

Ultimately, they’re the same kind of crap, but a good communist doesn’t want to recognize this, thus they hide behind the “greater good” shield, which is, honestly, getting thinner and thinner lately.

Because, the biggest problem these wankers have is… what is the “greater good” and who decides what the “greater good” is?

No doubt Obama will blame this blizzard on the Bush adminstration. If this global warming gets any worse we’ll all freeze to death! Oh, I forgot Al said, these record cold temps are caused by the global warming. I’m not buying what he’s shoveling!!!
