President Obama picked the Colts today over the Saints. Then again, he picked Coakley over Brown. And, don’t forget about New Jersey and Virginia.
It’s 10-3 Colts with one minute to go in the 2nd Quarter.
UPDATE: Wow!… The Who was great at halftime.
UPDATE: Saints just jump up 31-17 with 3 minutes to go. Game over.
The Obama curse strikes again.
Congratulations New Orleans!

The Who is doing the halftime show. I love The Who but they seem a little off key tonight. They look old. The music is right on though. They’re doing a medley. The stadium is singing along with them. Everybody likes The Who.

NeoKong,
They ARE old. I just said to the husband that they needed to stop with the stage antics. If one of them falls he risks a broken hip.

If his pick is correct, will his cronies use this as one of his “accomplishments”?
February 7th, 2010 | 7:16 pm | #5
I thought they were gonna keel over. I think I saw oxygen masks. I love the Who’s music but its just past their time. Time for some younger current talent who can still carry a tune in a bucket

My Beloved Husband just remarked that he STILL prefers aged Who to the dreck that sang at Times Square for New Years… ;-)
They are old, but they did OK – and no wardrobe malfunctions! LOL

I dont think they were ‘Great’. BTW, I’m 67 and I progressed past them.
I look for GnR to do the show .. sometime around

The Who’s fantastic greatest hits album Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy is nearly 40 years old, so yeh they aren’t young.
February 7th, 2010 | 8:26 pm | #9
I liked the halftime, even though Daltry and Townsend are old. We all get old. The production quality was high, and I thought the lighting and the lasers really made the show.
Even though Pete did look like Boy George tonight.
February 7th, 2010 | 8:32 pm | #10
If they have to book The Who for halftime, what’s that say about all of the other available talent out there?
I didn’t care for them when they were young and I don’t care for them when they are old…and they ARE old.

I like the Super Bowl tv commericals than watching the football game. My favorite is the Snickers commerical.

Personally I thought that Audi green police commercial was HORRIFYING@!! How could they think that was funny? We’re so close to being there with the harpies right over our soldiers nagging us about light bulbs and plastic bags. UGH! I’m hyperventilating!

Just saw on Drudge that Obama is going to call in Dems and Repubs with the TV Cameras rolling to jump start Healthcare. Obama should have been a Carnival Barker. Come one come all — See the Man with Two Heads and the Woman with 3 Breasts.
Obama thinks if he can get Republicans on board they will get the blame. God I hope they don’t fall for this or we’re screwed. Cause even a broken clock is right twice a day.

For those confused, he originally picked the saints last week, but TODAY changed his pick…
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama says the Indianapolis Colts “have to be favored” in the Super Bowl, even though he has a “soft spot” for the New Orleans Saints.
Obama’s Super Bowl prediction was based on his opinion that the Colts have “perhaps the best quarterback in history.”
“Peyton Manning is unbelievable,” the president told CBS’ Katie Couric during a live pre-game interview.
Still, Obama says he has a soft spot for New Orleans, “mainly because of what the city has gone through over these last several years” since Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005.
Obama says he may be biased against the Colts, since they beat his hometown Chicago Bears in the Super Bowl in 2007

I’m just waiting for Obama to off-handedly speak about how people should not be blowing money on Mardi Gra and Saints merchandise in THE BIG EASY when they can’t afford it….just like Vegas…….

#28 allyHM-Thanks for the reminder….
Romans 8-28 –for sure –”…all things work together for good to them that love God…”
If you read the KJV-go up one verse to Rm 8:27…”…he maketh intercession for the saints…”
Now-I know that God probably does not look upon football as a necessity-and probably would not intercede for a Super Bowl win …However—I do believe God does have a sense of humor…:-)

The Who used to rock, but tonight they looked more like “old age wasteland.” Why does the halftime show always seem to feature people past their prime? It’s like asking this years Hall of Fame inductees to suit up and scrimmage at halftime!

Obama predicts Colts victory in Super Bowl
WASHINGTON (AP)—President Barack Obama says the Indianapolis Colts “have to be favored” in the Super Bowl, even though he has a “soft spot” for the New Orleans Saints.
Obama’s Super Bowl prediction was based on his opinion
that the Colts have “perhaps the best quarterback in history.”
“Peyton Manning(notes) is unbelievable,” the president
told CBS’ Katie Couric during a live pre-game interview.
Still, Obama says he has a soft spot for New Orleans, “mainly because
of what the city has gone through over these last several years” since Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005.
Obama says he may be biased against the Colts, since they
beat his hometown Chicago Bears in the Super Bowl in 2007.
AP wouldn’t lie would they?? :D
guess HE chose both, so HE couldn’t lose!?

How could Obama do something like that? First representative Conyers is complaining the Haiti relief staff isn’t black enough, and now Obama snubs Willie Wonka by picking the Chocolate City to lose. It must be the name “Saints”. Obama’s contempt for God and all things holy trumps his political correct instincts.

2 things….
NFL couldn’t find any American talent for the great American get-together 1/2 time show?
and…
NFL couldn’t find newer talent? The Who are so old-fashioned…I mean, really, my generation?…teenage wasteland?…
I was hoping for Rascal Flats, or Chris Doughtrey, or Beyonce,…something..

“President Barack Obama says the Indianapolis Colts ‘have to be favored’ in the Super Bowl, even though he has a ’soft spot’ for the New Orleans Saints.”
In other words, he voted “present” again.

Why were The Who the halftime entertainment?
Because the three “CSI” shows on CBS all use songs by The Who as their theme music:
CSI : Vegas – “Who are you?”
CSI : Miami – “Won’t get fooled again”
CSI : New York – “Baba O’Reilly”

Obama census commercial?
The census 10 years ago was 5 billion in expense. This one is budget for 15 billion. We know with Obama that is a start. Do we see a final expense of 25 billion?
February 8th, 2010 | 10:41 am | #46
I thought Obama picked the Saints too. He just said the Colts were favored (they were) and he had a “soft spot” for New Orleans. So yeah, no curse here.
February 8th, 2010 | 10:47 am | #47
I’m not sure when old rockers should retire, but in my opinion the Who should have done it before Sunday night.

The Univ. of Ky Wildcats basketball team had been enjoying an undefeated streak. The team did a telethon Hoops for Haiti and raised over $1 million dollars. The President calls to thank them. The Wildcats 1st loss of the season to the South Carolina team that night.
